How long is the course?
The course is full time for 8 and a half months. The lectures are on weekdays from 1.30 to 4.30.
There are Practice Sessions three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri) for 2 and a half hours. The Class is divided into Morning & Evening for the Practice Sessions. The students are allowed extra practice time on Saturdays if they wish to come.
There are Practice Teaching and Observation sessions for 14 weeks in the mornings in different schools after which the student has to come for lectures in the afternoons to the institute.
What is the medium of teaching?
All lectures are delivered in English. The presentations of the course work are presented in English both orally and in writing. It will be necessary for students to take lecture notes and write essays and prepare assignments as instructed.
Is attendance compulsory?
Students must have 90% attendance for each aspect (area) of the course. Attendance records will be diligently maintained throughout the year. In case of absence, students should notify the Director of Training in writing.
As a student, what am I expected to do?
Students are required to submit written work at regular intervals during the course, which includes theory essays, presentations, material making and observation reports. Students are also required to prepare four Albums in the different areas – Practical Life, Sensorial, Language and Mathematics. Students will need to meticulously read the books mentioned in the reading list in order to complete all assignments.
What kind of diploma is this?
The AMI diploma is awarded by the Association Montessori Internationale. It qualifies the holder to work with children in a Montessori environment between 3 and 6 years of age.This Diploma is internationally recognized.
What is the refund policy?
The fee is non-refundable. Once paid it cannot be refunded for any reason either prior to the commencement of or during the course on withdrawal of a student.
Is there any accommodation available with the centre?
The centre does not have hostel facilities. Nevertheless we do guide and support students while they look for accommodation if required.
Does the institute provide placement?
The institute provides details of vacancies that are available in India as well as abroad from time to time during and after the course. The students are free to take up the procedure with the particular schools of their choice
