28th March, 2017 will always be a memorable day for the students of the 20th batch of the RTI – AMI Montessori Training Program. It was an emotional day as we all gathered at the RTI institute, to receive our diplomas! The same hall where we excitedly lined up had been our second home for the entire 9 months! Hours of practice with the material, eager to learn all about the Montessori philosophy – we had started off as strangers and parted ways as family – the AMI family eager to begin our journeys and take on our new roles with great responsibility and enthusiasm.
The ceremony began by welcoming our Chief Guest, Mrs Hilla Patell, our Director of Training Ms Zarin Malva, the examiners, faculty, administrators and all our excited family and friends.
Ms Zarin Malva gave a heartfelt speech and extended her gratitude to Mrs Patell and all those who had helped conduct the course successfully.
Mrs. Hilla Patell proceeded to light the lamp.
She congratulated us and welcomed us all to the AMI family. She reminded us about how “every ending is a new beginning” and how we should take our knowledge of this wonderful philosophy forward.
Our batchmate Jeoreon Walleyn gave an enriching speech about Dr Montessori’s work with the UN and UNESCO in supporting child rights and education. He ended emotionally by reminding us how we had just made “a small step for a better world, a world of peace” He quoted the John Lenon song,
“You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one”
The students were handed over the diplomas as their families and friends cheered on!
The graduation ceremony ended with a Vote of Thanks and we bid goodbyes to one another with memories to last a life time!
